From the moment Jennifer joined our trust, she turned the phrase “digital strategy” from an aspiration into a vibrant, system-wide reality. Within two terms, she delivered a clear, phase mapped roadmap that all TCES schools now follow, complete with costed milestones, progress dashboards and weekly strategic meets that keep every leader, from our chief executive to site-based headteachers, reviewing, refining and celebrating impact together. Jennifer’s work stands out because she placed SEND learners at the centre of every decision. She launched Coding that pair Scratch Junior and Micro bits with visual schedules, enabling nonverbal autistic pupils who once avoided information technology to debug simple animations and share their creations in assembly. She built a VR curriculum that lets pupils engage in geography, history and science lessons in a low anxiety virtual environment; one year-six student with pathological demand avoidance completed the tour of Ancient Egypt and King Tutankhamen ten times and then applied the same coping strategies during a real virtual experience trip to the Excel Centre. She also secured eye gaze and switch access devices, combined them with immersive reader tools and coached staff so learners with complex sensory needs could co-create digital stories alongside their peers rather than watching passively. For staff and leaders, Jennifer established fortnightly Digital Meetings during which heads share live data, including attendance figures, online engagement statistics and hours of professional development logged, ensuring that every decision is evidence based. Her Strategy Planning Meetings brings the chief executive and all headteachers into one room to agree three trust wide priorities and translate them into school specific action plans using a common template. As a result, a pupil transferring between our schools encounters familiar platforms, logins and digital safety expectations on day one. Thanks to Jennifer’s vision, our learners now see themselves as coders, creators and confident digital citizens, and our leaders share a common language and toolkit that will keep this momentum growing.
